Weekly Christian Formation Opportunities

Bible Study

Each Sunday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. a small group meets in the Parish House Parlor to study and discuss the Bible and to offer up prayers. If you would like to be a part of this small group, please contact Lee Mcclellan at leemcclellan734@yahoo.com if you have questions.

Youth Christian Formation

Middle and high school students will meet upstairs in the Parrish House at 9:15 (after the first service). See you all soon!

Volunteers are still needed; please contact Justin if you are interested.

Adult Christian Formation

Please join us on Sunday mornings in Webb Hall from 9:15 -10:15 a.m. for adult education/discussion during October and November. We’ll be watching short videos and then discussing what we heard/learned. We’ll be using two video series: “Reading the Bible through the Lens of Conflict,” and “Citizenship as a Spiritual Calling.” Keith Wyatt and Kara Hartz will be facilitating these sessions. We’re starting on Sunday and looking forward to having you join us for one or all of the sessions. Everyone is welcome!

Thursday morning Book Study

Our Thursday Zoom Book Study will resume on October 28 with a weekly discussion on Brian McLaren’s Why Did Jesus, Moses, the Buddha, and Mohammed Cross the Road?: Christian Identity in a Multi-Faith World. Please pick up a copy and join us on Thursday mornings from 10 – 11:30 a.m.For more information, contact Rev. Holly, therevhrz@gmail.com, Glynis Rosendall, gmrathome@icloud.com, or Melanie Wiggins, mewigg66@gmail.com.

Happy Hour

Tay Ruthenburg will be hosting Happy Hour Monday, October 18, 2021 in the church’s courtyard at 5:30 p.m.

Courtyard Office Hours

This week Joanna will be in the courtyard on Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Please come by to talk, pray together, or just say hello! Feel free to bring your morning coffee/tea. (If it’s raining, Joanna will instead be under the Begley building awning that faces Riverside.)

Halloween Candy

We are seeking donations of candy to share with our neighborhood! Please ask your youngest friends and family members what their favorite Halloween treats are, get some to share, and bring these tasty offerings to the box in the sanctuary. You can also join Holly and Joanna in the courtyard from 4 to 6 on October 31 to help pass out candy.

All Hallows’ Eve Worship

Please join us for a spooky worship service at 6:30 p.m. on October 31! Did you know that there are ghosts and zombies in the Bible? We will read about them at this service. Excessive quantities of candles will be provided. Costumes optional but encouraged. If you are interested in helping with this service, contact Joanna (jbenskin@ses.cdsp.edu).

Front Porch Visits!

As the weather gets cooler, Holly+ and/or Joanna+ would love to join you outdoors for a Front Porch Visit! Please reach out to them to set one up.

Regathering during COVID

Your Regathering Team spent time looking at the current metrics and the increase of COVID cases.

With that in mind, we will:

  • Continue to require masks at all worship services, social distance, and limit attendance capacity to 75%.
  • Ask staff to wear masks during business hours when more than three people are gathered in a room.
  • Require any congregational or community meetings being held inside remain socially distanced, masked, and offer no food. We highly encourage groups to meet outside or online.

Changes to our regathering guidelines are made in consultation by our Rector and our Regathering Team and determined by the following metrics which were recommended by the Diocese. Expect changes when:

  • The number of COVID-19 cases in the Evansville area has consistently decreased for 14 days.
  • The infection rate in the Evansville area is less than 1.0%.
  • The positive test rate in the Evansville Metro area is less than 10% and preferably closer to 3% or less.
